Aussie Rules

Has anybdy played Aussie Rules Football, if so do they have an over 35s team and are they happy to play with inexperienced Poms. I really fancy playing it whan we get to Aus.

Can't really help, just wanted to congratulate you on realising that Aussie Rules footy is the best game in the world!!!! The Australians we know are only too keen on introducing us poms to the game, as for 35's up playing, I have seen a fair few 'old' players out there at the weekend. And you should see how the dads rush to play at the end of the season at their kid's club!

On a different note, did you know that AR is played in the UK too? Perhaps you could go to a few matches whilst you are still in the UK?

You're right my mate!! I just did a search and found Swansea Magpies!! 'Course, you can imagine how it would look for a Llanelli Scarlet to start supporting anything to do with a Swansea Jack...but maybe Welshtone will take me on a freebie the next time he comes over from Ireland...Now..he's a 'Jack' thru and thru'!!!

Eeeek....so you noticed huh??

Its only like you Newport and Cardiff boys tho aint it? We're the same as you lot...we lose out to the 'Money' teams...we gather the home grown talent which gets nicked by those Welsh cockneys and those Black Jacks!!

Any Hurling in OZ

Same sort of thing as Gaelic footie, only more fighting in Oz. But if any of the Aussies or us Brits think that's a mans game all I can say is the Irish have it over us. Have any of you seen Hurling or been to a game. Tony took me to a game back last year near Cork.

My God, too frightening to watch, one smack with those sticks and your head's smashed in, I couldn't believe some of the injuries and the fighting there. make's rugby look like a nursery school, and as for footie, well they may as well be wearing little girls dresses.
