Hi all, i also watched with great excitment the show on Wednasday, as this is the area or more out of Fremantle that we are heading to.
I couldn't help but shout at the tv, how spoilt are these people, does it really matter how new, the lay out of the house is etc etc, thought the whole idea abut migrating to Oz is to have a more outside life style,i think we brits focus toooooo much on the material things and trying to 'keep up with the jones' ok yes so having a decent home is important but come on what about the older or more affordable home also what about showing some rental properties.
There thats better all of my chest now!!!

I have just been talking well writing to the girl who was on this morning and she said it was quite heavily edited.
The wanted to show the work situation for her was quite bad out there for her it didnt show you when she was talking about how she had previously worked on a boat as a marine biologist in Cairns and got a job within 24 hours of her arriving.
she said there was quite a few bits missed off but she doesnt seem to bothered.
Well I watched again today and I thought that couple in Cairns were fantastic. What a lovely sensible young couple. Their hopes and dreams were there for all to see and I wish them nothing but joy and good luck for their migration. Judging from the way they were kissing and canoodling I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a wee little Aussie on the way soon as well.
They reminded me of a younger version of me and Tony, kissing all day long. Love to walk on to the building site with his lunch and give him a big kiss in front of all the lads, or better still in the "Players and Officials Committee lounge" at his Rugby Club. Really upsets all the old farts there when I'm around.
But seriously, Good Luck to them I say, and even if the young lady today can’t find work straight away if she follows her destiny she will.
EMMY (still in love)

I was really looking forward to this series and i am enjoying some of it, getting to see the individula cities and surrounding areas ... but some seems SO unrealistic ... for example the Vet last week he was an Equine Vet who was a partner in a horsey hospital, they were looking at NZ His 3 options were totally unsuitable for his present lifestyle,as IF he would take a pay cut to £30k ... and what a SNOB his wife was the way she dismissed all the house options. I really WOULDNT want her as a neighbour coz she was more of a whinging AND whining POM!
The family who had the Cancer Drug Trial Nurse as the main visa applicant? .... her husband sadly has a muscle wasting disease which unfortunately was progressive and yet no mention AT ALL was made of any issues that might cause for the visa, WHY?
Saying all that I am still watching each and every episode and record them on Sky+ sp that John can watch them as well

Now I've only seen one episode of Wanted....... The couple in question wanted to move to Oz from Crawley, and were checking out Perth. One of their stated main reasons for going was that it would be a better life for their daughter so I found it amazing then that not once did they check out the schools/ childcare provision etc. All you saw them do was walk in to a house and marvel about what you could get for your cash. Theres more to life than a big house and a pool. Or is Perth like someone said elsewhere here, getting full of Poms comparing house and pool sizes? Nadia Thingy said at the start how affordable houses werein Wellard I think, and mentioned a price (was it 370K or 270K?) I would like to know where these house are, as I've had a look round the real estate websites and can't see any! And the ones they checked out were way over those prices. Anyone thinking of going would probably do well to avoid the programme - but how can we resist! And it keeps the dream alive!!
I've only watched a couple of these programmes and found them SO misleading. Anyone who is watching must think that you just decide to go to Oz one day, pack up the next and you go!
There are no mentions of TRA's, fees, police checks, medicals, those mythical creatures called Case Officers (yes, I am still waiting for one of those), or any of the other one hundred and one things ............................

I have watched all this week, and it still amazes me some of the things people say on the show.
When the couple where looking in freemantle and said meat was about the same, I think he was thinking the prices were for LB's not kilo. Show me where you can buy scotch fillet for $10.99 a kilo, or £2.50 a LB in the UK? your lucky to get mince for that.
And why do they always show people whos parents need help or are recovering for major sureury?
And they always say they want to spend more time with the kids, finish work and head down the beach for a swim, and cricket. Well why don't they do that here. Finish work and spend time with their kids at the park or where ever. it's not rocket surgery!
Life is what you make it.. you don't need to travel around the world to make changes to your life. But we are off to Brisbane in June. We live there for 14 years before returning to the UK for a working holiday, we have been here 5 years and can't wait to return to Oz. Our life was sooooooooo much better there, even with all the good and bad.
Put another beer in the eskie, hold the steak until i get there, (i like it rare), see you on South Perigian beach. We will be the lilly white ones, waiting for the sun to do its work.

Hi Everyone
I can't help noticing that alot of these people on the program seem to think they can go to Oz, work less hours and still live to a high standard. We are going with the attitude that once we get there the hard work will begin, because you have to make a whole new life. Unless you go with a huge pot of money, I don't think it is very realistic to go and think you can reduce your hours. One couple this week were going to let the wife work while the husband gave up - don't really understand that attitude.
