No, I've not used an agent. I did quite a bit of research on the internet, and this forum has been really usefull to! Don't know if you've looked at the official department of Immigration website about your visa options, but here's the link if you need it:

I'm going on the general skilled option. I've applied for a skilled Independant Visa (175). If you decided to go for this type you'll have to get your skills assessed by the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council (ANMC). Here's the link:

It's just a case of form filling for the skills assessment - no scarry exams or anything!

My Brother in Law plays a fair bit of golf and he lives in Arundel on the Gold Coast and his house backs onto a golf course but i think there's probably loads spotted all over the place.

Apparentely, the kangeroos take offence to you going too close to them to get your balls back tho'..

To be honest, at the start of the process I thought about using an agent too, but the more I looked into it I decided to give it a bash myself. It's all so confusing at the start, but do some reading on your visa options, etc and decide what one sutes you best. The 175 type that I've applied for is probabally the most popual one (think this is because is a permenant visa, and it's more flexiable as your not tied to one specific employer) The skills assessment part of things is something which a lot of people struggle with, and that may be a reason for them to decide to use an agent. But to be honest the nusing skills assessment is really quite straight forward, although it does take about 10 weeks to get your results through! The 175 visa again is pretty straight forward, unless you've got any really unsual circumstances, then it might be worth taking to an agent. The choice is yours though! This site it a really usefull tool - any questions, ask away ...(now that you've figgered out how to post threads!)... and someone should know the answer!
