OK I think this story demands at least 100 replies. So PiO people get busy!!
Sometimes I feel so ashamed of myself, as I moan about this and that, and I wonder how our migration to Oz will work out. Will this be OK, ? What about that? Will it be too hot? Will I be homesick? Can I cope with Spiders?
102 Years old and off to New Zealand. What a Man !!! Lets not forget his young chick at 87, My God. If this old couple don't inspire us to set sail with confidence then nothing will. Imagine the spirit he must have to do this at this stage of his life. OK they got one thing wrong in that they chose NZ and not Oz but hey lets be fair it’s still amazing. I say to Eric and Doris Good On Ya You deserve all the luck in the World.
So when we are all moaning, and I know before you all start telling me, "I’m a big moaner" lets all raise a glass to Eric and Doris and say "Well Done" and think about them when life starts to get us down, moaning like I do about the pound, or our house sale or anything, if we all had their spirit, migration would be a cake walk. And when our folks start their little subtle digs about us leaving them, I'm gonna get a lot of mileage out of this fantastic story. "It’s that Dunkirk spirit" as my Gramps used to say, Oh I’m off for a cry now.

Yep they certainly put some young un's to shame, but that is probably why they have both reached a good age, they get on with life instead of wishing it away
You are not alone I have had some big moans too - maybe we should have a whinging pom board
That is one of the best things about this forum, you can have a moan and a whinge without it turning into a huge deal.
Lets face it we all need to vent sometimes, some of us more than others.............................

This old gent was on the news last week leaving for New Zealand. I thought it was an incredible story to see them going like that. My dad is 74 and has vowed never to come and visit us if we go. Just goes to show how peoples determination in life is. Maybe this old man has litle left in life to worry about and that makes his trip and future however long or short that may be, a lot easier than a couple witha few children and all they have to condider. Still hats off to the old couple and good luck to them
