Hi Chelle..don't know if it's any good or not, but i noticed on another thread quite a while ago, alot of peeps on here had special books at their leaving do's for their friends and family to write messages in..what about something like that with photo's, messages and special memories..just a thought.. my Sis in law, (who gets right on my wotsits) gave my hubby an album with old family photos in as a Christmas gift, which we thought was a great pressie, his Sis has been holding on to the family album since thier Mum died three years ago.
I am going to go through my family photos with my brother, I seem to have ended up with them all and I think he will want to take some copies.
I have been thinking of asking my family, the ones I never see and probably will not see before we go for up to date photos of them and their families for me to put in frames or in an album along with addresses and e mail so we can keep in touch on high days and holidays
maybe you could start it off for them

My brother and sister in law emmigrate to Oz in March.
I would like to get my sister in law a nice gift but having looked on some web sites am unsure what to get.
Anyone received any nice, unusual gifts when emmigrating?? Or anyone have any ideas?

Someone mentioned a great gift which was a nice address book with all of the family/friends names, addresses and email etc in. I know on our leaving night we ended up with hundreds of bits paper with poeples scribble on, would have loved someone to go around and collected it all and put it in a book for me lol.
A family photo is always a nice gift. From school, my son got laminated pages with pictures of his friends, photo's of the school and messages on sticky notes - you could adapt this to have photo's of family and friends, pictures of their favourite pub, eating out place etc. and get people to put messages too - a very personal but inexpensive gift.
