Am I right in thinking some of the rules have changed.:) I watched yesterday and there was a nice young couple who the Beeb had taken to Perth. I was really pleased to hear that you no longer have to have been working for the past 2 years in your chosen job to be eligible for a skills visa. The lady yesterday was in Human Resources, her hubby was a DJ and apparently She was the main applicant and hadn’t been working for the past 2 years following maternity leave. They looked a lovely couple with a sweet wee little girl, who I'm sure will love life in Oz.
This is great news for a friend of mine who is in the same position, not having worked for over a year and wanted to apply as a HR manager. Luckily I recorded the show and have passed it to her so it just goes to show how much good comes out of the show. Can’t believe her luck, She’s already getting the paperwork started for Sydney.
Yeaaassss

Hello Emmy, Sorry to bring you bad news, but if I were you I would check this out. You still have to have an immediate work experience on a skills visa as far as I'm aware. This show last year was poorly researched and flawed in all shapes and forms so don't take anything as defenite on the show. Personally I thought it was C***p and only aimed at selling a glossy dream to people. Maybe this series will be different, lets hope so.

hi tend to agree think they could tell you more about the process, but well they dont do the leg work for you do they, but its great seeing what houses are there for your money , and if your occupation is the chosen one on the show its nice to have a glimpse of the standards, every one i have seen so far is good for the hospitals, and also, a nosey at diff area's . dont suppose the beeb will show you the real nasty's will they, i must admit after watching this programme the first time around it was what got our ball rolling, and having family there too! so its good to watch id say look at it for the scenery and the glimpse you get at the lifestyle and do your own homework!
