Hi all
Just a quickie! I know you are not allowed to take in Christmas decorations that contain wicker, cones, holly etc.. but are there any limitations on your baubles so to speak! I am just in the middle of taking down the tree and have a bag of lovely baubles that I would like to keep if poss. There the usual sort (plastic and shiny and glittery)
Thanks guys

Hi Ali
Thanks for that. I had a feeling it was just natural stuff you couldn't bring in. The baubles aren't that expen sive or anything but theres some special one if you know what I mean, ones the kids decorated etc...

I was just coming on to PIO to ask the very same question, so now I can pack up my baubles safely. I was a bit peeved that I had to depart with some of my decorations that had wicker, pine cones etc -- but gives me the excuse to get some new ones for next year!!! and I donated them to my work (hospital ward) so at least I know they going to good use. While we are on the subject of what to pack and not pack can anyone tell me what the restrictions are on wooden ornaments as I have a few that I dont want to part with, I also read something about candles, and what about things like wicker washing baskets, wicker bread trays etc.

Mee too!
we have taken down our tree today and sorted through the decs, any that had the slightest hint of natual stuff or were made of wood will not be going
I am offering a 6ft artificial tree and some wooden tree decs free to a good home to people I know and if none of them want it - it is going on Freecycle
will be putting lots on Freecycle over the next couple of weeks as we get ready for the big move.
That is WHEN we sell the house

We brought pine beds, but I did have to give an african ornament away as it was carved out of tree bark and my wedding bouquet which had been dried and framed- I think it's untreated wood that's not allowed and candles are a no - having said that if your wooden ornaments are mixed in with other stuff they may not even look at them.
