Hi
I too can recommend Rescue Remedy! I've bottles of the stuff all over the place and it does help to calm you a bit in times of stress (of which there is plenty). Also I am going to have a look on PSS for a quote so thanks for the heads up steve.

Really pleased that this post helped!!! I think its important for us to pass on our experiences so that others can learn from them and not have to go through the same things!!!
Have rung ****** again, guess what they said? "we'll ring you back"...Guess what??? They havent!!!! Cant say i'm surprised!!! Really saw the funny side of sitting on camping chairs and having a box as a dining room table... but its not so funny now especially as its been just sat there in their yard for a month!!! oh well...i'm calm...will just have to keep smiling!!!!
Love

Reason: Have done if for you
Before my update just wanted to say how disappointed i am that my post has been edited without my knowledge so that people cant read that its ********* REMOVALS who are an absolute disgrace!!!! I thought this forum was for offering advice on good and bad experiences...so why the block????
Anyay we moved out here last October we still havent received all our goods the second half of the shippment came into Melbourne on the 17th January and we're still waiting!!!!
We have now unpacked the first half, with witnesses present, and full tea chests have been backed with packing paper and inside we have found for example 1 egg cup in the whole of a tea chest!!! or a flash mop pad out of my bin in a box and 1 light bulb in the whole of a box...No wonder we suddenly needed an extra container!!!
When we first had our quote we were told that we would easily fit all our things into a 20ft, before the actual move we had a massive clear out, so really that meant we should have had room to spare!!! But no they couldnt fit all the boxes in the container...then once we were in Australia told us that the second half wouldnt be shipped until we paid a further £1400, after a huge row, they agreed to accept £700.00, to be honest we just wanted an end to it!!!
Anyway now we've unpacked the first half we can see exactly what they've done, we must have at least 20 empty boxes full of packing paper with one item inside, and they very cleverly split our furniture so that half came in the first and half in the second so we couldnt even tell them to stick it!!!
Anyway will update again when the 2nd lot finally arrives. But please just take care when booking your removers, this has really put a dampener on things for us!!!
And please dont edit again, without explaining why to me...at the end of the day thats why we have this forum, surely!!! to stop others having bad experiences and to offer help and advice, and to share good news and recommendations as well!!!!
This is something that has happened to us and is our thoughts on *********, some people may have had good experiences with them.BUT we didnt and we need to inform people. Whatever happened to Freedom Of Speech!!!!!
Anyway thanks to all the poi's who have given us so much support
Love Tracey

Hi Tracy,
Unfortunately in this litigious day and age there is some companies that threaten legal action if they are mentioned in a less than perfect light on forums, PiO included as well as others.
Although I would rather NOT censor such posts and comment (as I believe it is the wrong way of doing things), certain companies request PiO not to mention them by name in posts, therefore, I have no option but to censor their names whether good or bad comments are made about them. Most other companies are quite happy to answer any comments made about them online in an open environment - which I firmly believe is the correct way of doing things.
I hope you understand the situation this puts me in as I would rather keep it as open as possible.
Tim,
I can totally understand the position you are in, but please understand mine, I put a post on here to highlight my experiences with THAT shipping company so that others could learn from my experiences and act accordingly. This is MY personal view and surely i have the right to be able to share it with others!!!!!
They acted less than professionally, and in MY opinion should stand up and be accountable for their actions!!!!
I shall now go through all posts which name THAT shipping company and highlight them to you so you can edit any comments good or bad made about them...surely they have some good comments somewhere!!!!!
I do appreciate where your coming from Tim, but i'm also very sad that you are allowing THAT company to potentionally do the same thing to someone else because we're not allowed to tell of personal experiences.....That doesnt seem fair somehow!!!!!

My Mood:
I think you will find that us lot on Poms In Oz are very understanding to peoples problems,us moderators are here to help as much as we can, however as Tim has said some companys insist their name is blanked out ,unfortunately it is beyond our control,im sure you would agree that you wouldnt want to pay the bill when we are sued!Tim should not have to pay either really should he?unfortunately thats life!!!

p.s ,,i have just seen their name in your original post, not sure if you added it after Tim edited but i will have to go and remove it,sorry ,
Its not that I don't necessarily think it is right, it is just that it appear under internet law, I am classed as the publisher so could be liable within this framework.
I apologise if you feel hard done by in this instance.
If they are, then your remedy is a detailed complaint to BAR, I would suggest, plus contact the UK TV programme Watchdog and see whether they are willing to take up the cudgels.
The alternative is to sue for breach of contract, which would probably involve litigation in the UK but you do not necessarily have to be in the UK in order to do it.
Best wishes
Gill

Hi again, Tracey
The problem is that if you recount a bad experience, in writing, and you pulish it to a third party (in this case the whole world, via the web) then the company can accuse you of libel and sue you for defamation. They do not have to prove anything except that you made the allegations. YOU then have to prove that your allegations are true or can be justified in some way. They could drag you into very expensive litigation as the First Defendant and they could drag Tim into it as well, as Second Defendant.
The thing with litigation (speaking as a solicitor) is that you never get all of your costs back even if you win. The winner gets "party & party costs" only. These are only about 70% of the "solicitor & own client" costs, plus the solicitor representing you will demand 100% of his costs up-front, from you, regardless of the eventual outcome. I'm not a litigator (thank the good Lord) but I've sat in on meetings with colleagues who are. I've heard them telling our client, "Litigation of any sort is risky. You could lose. It will also be very expensive and I am NOT be underwriting the costs for you. I must be paid up front via interim bills every couple of months all the way through this if you want me to act." I - me - I have been shocked to the core by what seems to me to be a very brutal way to treat a client.
But there it is - real life in the appalling world of litigation, I guess.
Tim is trying to protect you as much as himself, lassie.
