Well, it's the 2nd of january and we got 2 more cards today which were posted on December 11th - not sure if it's UK or Aussie post that are so slow.

Anyone else still getting xmas cards?

Ali

Hi Ali

Yeah same here. Today we got 5 Christmas cards and birthday card for OH which was posted end Nov.

Our neighbour is a manager at our local post depot and he has said that they have thousands of cards/parcels that still have not been delivered as they dont have the staff.

We still havent received a parcel that my best friend in the UK sent, back at end August by sea mail which has the boys Christmas presents in!! Hopefully might receive it some time soon!!

G'day

Last year we got a Christmas card just before easter which was sent via 2nd class mail from Orkney. This year we've recieved more cards from the UK since Christmas than before it.

We got 2 today one posted 2nd Dec for UK & one 19th from Canada. My dad sent a parcel from Germany over land on 8th October and we have yet to receive that, also our friends sent parcel by airmail early Dec which still hasnt arrived. I think the one my mam sent overland on 17th November might get here for next Xmas if we're lucky. I also have a couple things that I sold via ebay that didnt arrive and were posted 2nd December!

OH is a postie and it was quiet last week after Christmas - not much post coming through from the main depot for him to deliver but when he went back yesterday there was shed loads to deliver. Doesn't help that they had 2 days off for Christmas and then 4 days off for New Year really but it wil all get back on track.

I'm still waiting for my Christmas cards from my Mum, Dad and sisters! Good job OH isn't our postie or he'd be getting some grief now although thinking about it, if a postie lives on their round they get their mail delivered to them at work!

I still reckon the spanish post is the worst - gods truth
i sent my parents last xmas (06) a parcel at the end of november to their po box in spain - after february we gave up and never thought they would receive it - but hoooray they did in JUNE !!!!!!
so it took from nov 06 to june 07 to get there.
must be them blinking spanish donkeys too knackered to get up the hills !!!!

Hi Giz, I think you're right that has to be the worst story - I've noticed the aussies aren't that big on sending cards - everyone at work thanked me for mine but hardly anyone sent one.
