My Police check has arrived!! (But no sign of OH's!)

Well, 45 days after posting my police check is finally here!

It arrived in the post this morning. Not bad due to Xmas hols I suppose! Robert's isn't here yet though! His will be Monday, if not Thursday (no post on Tuesday or Wednesday due to public hols). Think I'll still scan mine and attach it to my case file anyhow. One less thing to worry about!

Yes it is exciting! I'd kind of forgotten about them with Xmas/New Year, etc, so it was a lovely suprise this morning! I also got all my Queensland Nursing reg stuff through today - a lovely certificate & pin badge saysin I'm a registered nurse in Queensland! We're heading for the Gold Coast - unsure of exact location yet as I keep changing my mind! Will really depend on where I get a job - I'm planning on starting to apply in early new year. So where are you hoping to head for? Have you had or booked your medicals yet? We're gonna get ours organised towards the end of January (unless requested to do so before then) More expense!!

hi mags,we're heading for sydney.have booked meds for 22nd january but if not heard anything by then i might rebook for feb.did have them booked for december but changed them just in case it takes a long time.tracy.xx.

Hi my OH's came back a couple of days after mine. We thought it was because of the fact that he has a small record. If your OH does not have one of these, then hopefully it will be just down to Xmas post.

Yes, think it's just the Xmas post....unless there's something he hasn't told me

!! I see from you timeline that one of your PC's was wrong and you had to apply for another one! Nightmare! Glad you got sorted in the end though!

Hi Mags,

Mine and my OH's police checks arrived yesterday (also around 45 days) - it is such a good feeling to get it out of the way! I was surprised how plain the police checks were, there didnt seem to be any watermarks or anything on them, just two blue lines!!

The only details of us that were on the police checks were our name and address, is that the same with yours? I'm not sure how they could get something wrong on the checks considering that they barely have any info about us on them!! Not even our date of birth! But I know what government departments are like...!

At the bottom of our police check it says 'This document does not constitute a certificate of good character' - I thought that was their point?!!! Does yours say the same thing?

Hope you get your OH's check back soon.

Yes, mine sounds the exactally same as yours, and I was supprised at the limited amount of info on them too! Though in would have had my date of birth on it at least! Oh well. hopefully that's all that's required. So is your visa application in? Did you do the online version too? I've been having trouble scanning & attaching my PC to my application. Did you scan your PC's? Mine came up with FRAUD printed accross them when I scanned them! But I've heard that the Department knows about the problem. Gonna wait till OH's PC comes back now, then email the PC's to the Department as my file won't let me attach any more docs!

Yes, that is what they should look like, nothing too exciting.

Unfortunately they got OH's wrong, had him down as an Estate Manager? So rang our local police and they said "oh, don't worry we will get that amended and a new one will be with you in days". 40 days later and lots of chasing the bl**dy thing finally turned up. So typical of the service in this country.

I am sure OH's will arrive in next few days.

Hi Mags,

Wow you must have got a surprise when you scanned it and it said FRAUD! I didnt even know there was technology out there that did that sort of thing (I think I am falling behind with technology!).

We sent our application by post, although I wish we had waited to do it online! Our was received in Oz on 6 Aug, and all that has happened is that our payment has been taken. We havent even got acknowledgment yet - we are stuck somewhere in the backlog! As we submitted it by post, we have to send the hard copies of the PCs to Oz so I havent needed to scan ours. Although I am quite interested to scan it to see the FRAUD writing now! Can you send yours in the post, or do you need to do everything online as you submitted the application online?

Hi Claire, I was really surprised when you said they had your OH as an Estate manager. We weren't asked anything about occupation on our PC's, they never asked us what we did? Did you apply for a standard subject access police check?
