Hooray - Meds done in Southampton

Hello all

Another box ticked. Meds done on Thursday evening (29th) with Dr Goodall in Southampton. He is really nice, relaxed and very (!) chatty. All straightforward in the end and no 'embarassing' examinations! He was really good with the children and let them watch very closely while he took our blood. Then he gave them the phial to hold - they were spookily fascinated - should I be worried!
We're over the moon because my OH has smoked since he was 13 and we were worried about the chest xray (silly really because better to know if something is wrong!) but all is clear.
Another good thing to come out of this process is that it has spurred him on to give up smoking and he gave up about 11 days ago Me and the children are so proud of him. I told him that just because xrays are clear, doesn't mean he can go back to smoking!

So, now it's wait, wait wait - seems more real by the week.

Alex

Hi Alex

My mother is very elderly and she is disabled - largely wheelchair dependent. She was 84 when Dr Goodall did her visa meds (for a Contributory Parent visa) two years agao, and he was absolutely fantastic with her. Very chatty, as you say, and so laid back that one hardly realises he is doing a serious medical exam.

I'd recommend him to anyone and I'm sure you would as well.

Cheers

Gill

Well done on another hurdle passed

Yes is a very nice man Doctor Goodall, we had our done there and he was really chatty, put us at our ease, he was great with my kids too - 18 and 22

seriously tho, my 18 yr old DD was terrified of having blood taken, he asked her is she wanted to watch ours, she didn't !

still waiting for ours to pass through LCU

arrived 22 Oct so hopefully not much longer

Good luck with the rest of your journey
