To all you newbies.
There is more chance of you getting hit by a car etc than getting bitten by any of the creepy crawlies in Oz, so relax, a can of Mortien kills the spiders that invade your home, spider nests in the garden can be destroyed by a bit of 2 stroke fuel and a lighter, that's the only way to destroy the babies or the eggs, NO spray will kill the eggs, that's why they still come back even after having the place sprayed by a proffesional.
I have been here for 37 years now, I have worked in the bush, we live in a rural area & we have never had a problem with anything, our daughter and family have a farm in Cowra,[ Central western NSW ] they have hundreds of Eastern Browns around & under the house, which are there for food only, [mice & frogs] not to menace and hope to bite a human, a bit of common sense is all that is needed to survive in this country, wear gloves when gardening and if you do come across a snake in the garden, put the hose on it & it will go away, or you can ring the local snake catcher who will come and take it away, snakes only attack when they have young close by or feel threatened, not much different to us humans really.
