Bootleg jeans ,,why oh why mention them ,mine are nearly worn out and not one shop in our local plazas sell bootleg jeans ,im going to have to visit surfers to see if its better down thou.Overall i think clothes in the uk are cheaper ,better and trendier ,my gran would wear half the clothes on sale in the shops ,,as for fashion ,this year its all day-glo (bright yellow, green etc) just like we had in the 80's with Wham on the scene!!!i miss Asda especially for kids stuff, socks etc

Of course there are lots of stores in Oz that sell good clothes ... I did feel the quality wasnt as good as here in comparison to price. One BIG problem (no pun intended!) I found was the lack of shops that cater for anyone of a larger size, yes there IS KMart but do you really want to look like every other larger lady in the area? So I am stockpiling!
What with my stockpiling of books as well, I am wondering will we need a larger container? Does John REALLY believe "I have had this old thing for ages"

Hi Curlysoo
I am a larger lady also (Big is Beautiful!!) and theres a lovely shop here called Suzanne or Sussan I'll need to pay more attention and let you know. Its a bit more pricey than Kmart and the like but arent they always? Probably about the same prices as Next and M&S.

I've decided to stock pile clothes.... any sales in Next, H&M, TK etc i'm there buying in clothes for the kids in sizes too big etc i also intend to get lots of underwear and put it all in my shipment.... so at least i have something to see us through until we have found our feet.... mind you in all honestly i have done that sort of shopping for years!!!... i'm always one for a good bargin...as jeans t-shirts and shorts for boys hardley change in style!!

I'm a bit of a stockpiler too. I have a habit of going through the sale clothes and buying the next sizes up for my older daughter. That way I can get her things I really like, for a reasonable price without having to settle for something I don't like because I'm desperate. My younger daughter nearly always has too many things, because she gets her sister's old clothes and my neighbours daughter is a little bigger than her so she gets loads from her when she's grown out of them (neighbour is an only child and has that many clothes she hardly wears them; so some of them are like new still).
