Stomach Bug Or?????

Morning All

God I feel sorry for myself this morning. Not sure whether I've got a stomach bug or food poioning, frankly.

Last night I was hungry, tired and too lazy to cook so I went and got chicken & chips frm the local chippy. Woke up at 3.30am feeling thirsty so I went and had a glass of water. That made me feel quesry.

About 4o minutes later i was violently sick. To judge from the contents and the taste, it looks like my body rejected the chicken and chips.

By then I was wide awake so I got up and made a cup of coffee plus had a glass of milk. Then I started brooding about citrus. My body is demanding citrus, so much to my concern I decided to give it a glass of ice cold grapefruit juice from the fridge. The local shop doesn't open till 7am and I'm sure as hell not going to scrape the frost off the car when I feel so lousy.

The first few sips of grapefruit juice had a predictable effect. I've just had my head down the loo again parting with the second half of last night's meal. Even I can work out that a combination of coffee, half a pint of full cream millk and then half a pint of grapefruit juice is likely to make anyone sick but it is what my guts are demanding, this grapefruit juice.

I don't know whether it is a stomach bug or whether it is food poisoning. If it is the latter then even if the grapefruit juice makes me sick again, at least I'll get rid of the cause of the problem, I guess. I'm typing this with a bucket on the floor beside me just in case.

I'm not sure what else I can do because ordinary water is making me feel sick, though I'm conscious that the amount of fluid I have sicked up needs to be replaced so Im going to finish the carton of fruit juice.

Does anyone know of a miracle cure, please?

Thanks

Gill

Gill have you got any lemonade in the house?

If so try half a glass of water topped up with some lemonade. My mum used to give us this if we were sick when I lived at home and it did help to settle the stomach (coke works as well).

Sorry if it makes you worse but this is what I do,

Hope you feel better soon hun, I have a hubbie here with me feeling quite queasy today too!

Hi Gill,
So sorry to hear your story, hope you feel better soon. My hubby is off work today with the same problem but its coming out of the other end if you know what I mean! He says he feels sick but cant be sick! He has got terrible stomach cramps too. I was convinced that he had food poisoning cos it usually takes 12 hours or so to rear its head. We have all eaten the same but then he remembered that he had eaten a curry puff at work, one of the lads misses often cooks asian food and the hubby takes it into work to share with the lads! I just assumed it would be this as oh started feeling ill last night around 9.30 pm and he ate the puff at 9 am!!!
When I went to the pharmacy this morning ( I am such a good wife ), they said that there is a bug going around - so basically how do you know???
Keep your chin up hunny and hope you recover soon!!

Luv Sian xxx

Awe Gill, hope you start feeling better real soon, there are loads of sicky bugs going around but like you said, if it came on really quickly it's prob something your tum didn't like. Don't have any real gems of wisdom I'm afraid other than what Felicity said, altho' we drink flat lemonade cos the bubbles can give gas and the last thing you want is killer f*rts when your sick (sorry, how uncouth!) Take care.

HI GILL DEFINETLY SOUNDS LIKE A TUMMY BUG -IF YOU HAD FOOD POISONING YOU WOULD KNOW ABOUT IT !! - I HAD IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AFTER A DODGY CHINEESE AND LETS JUST SAY IM GLAD THE SINK WAS NEXT TO TOILET LOL
THE ONLY CURE IS TO TAKE SMALL SIPS OF WATER [YOU CAN BUY REHYRDATION SACHETS FROM CHEMIST] - MILK AND FRUIT JUICE ARE THE WORST THINGS YOU CAN DRINK ! HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON
