Why no shoes ??

This amazes me is it only in Perth or other parts of Oz too. Why dont Ozzies wear shoes. You see them walking around the supermarket bare feet even out walking the streets????? it facinates me. Oh and to the Ozzies girl I did see a few weeks ago WASH YOUR FEET omg they were filthy looked like they hadnt been washed in months

My daugter hardly ever wears shoes here ,probably because of most her playmates are aussies and dont wear them.She can run across the stones on the path like its grass ,,i cringe just watching ,,and if i put shoes on her she just takes em straight off!!!

Yep it happens in Brissy aswell, they drive their cars and fill up at petrol stations, all that crap on the floor and i've seen redbacks they just dont care

Ahh so going out with your pj's on isn't just a perth think too the adult's go shopping with pj's & bare feet here mind you I am guilty of jumping in the car the other day with my pj's on to drop my son and school but would never dream of getting out the car (well when in Oz do what the Aussies do ) but couldnt do the bare feet bit too many spiders & stones ouch

Whenever my sister comes to the UK, the only footwear she brings are the pair of Scholl sandals on her feet. When Dad died and she came to the UK in a hurry, we had to go out and buy her a pair of shoes for the funeral because I said, "You can NOT wear those clogs, kid!"

HI JANETTE WE NOTICED THIS WHEN WE WERE OUT IN MARCH THOUGHT IT QUITE AMAZING !! MY FRIENDS O/H WENT TO PICK UP PIZZA AND DVDS WITH JUST HIS SWIM TRUNKS AND A TOWEL WRAPPED ROUND HIM ! HE IS AN OZZIE BORN AND BRED AND HE SAYS THEY DRESS FOR COMFORT AND WHEN ITS SO HOT WHATS THE POINT IN PUTTING CLOTHES ON LOL . I thought it was only in Singa that kids wondered around with their pjs on!! Normally find them at the hawker centres around dinner time so I suppose it makes sense. Couldn't do without shoes myself - not so much cos of the dirt and stuff but cos I'm a shoeholic!

..yeah i remember wearing no shoes as a kid over there, or just thongs..when i took my OH and kids out there..my OH always wore jeans and trainers..my brothers took ages to persuade him to wear shorts and sandals..and when we go back out a pair of shorts and sandals will be the first thing he puts on..he loves it now!..oh and a 'crownie' in his hand..

I have seen teenagers over here in the uk walking around town shopping in there pjs , it must be a fashion thing here in merseyside it looks stupid they look like they just got out of bed and couldnt be bothered to get dressed

On my first day in Oz I was in a supermarket in Redcliffe and a lady was shopping in her PJ's with her hair wrapped in a towel and no shoes on ...I thought OMG what have I done !!!!
