First Day out of the Navy

Well thats it, as of today I am unemployed for the first time in 14yrs 10 months - its the only job I've done since I was 18. My last working day in the Navy was yesterday so as of today I'm a dole waller . Whats strange is I thought it would feel different, dont know why but just expected to feel like something was missing, but its just another day. Now come on LCU get those meds processed please so I can get on that big silver bird!!!

Great being a civvie isn`t it!!I know my hubby said the first thing he was going to do was grow a dodgy moustache (I wouldn`t let him though) Any luck with the house hunting yet?

Nope - still struggling! Don't think we'll be able to sort a rental before arrival due to the requirement to visit the property. But getting twitched to about the number of properties that wont allow pets

I left the Navy 11 years ago (during the big redundancies of the 90's) having done 8 years! It took a few months for me to realise that I could do anything I wanted without being told! There is no way I could go back now and if anyone tried to talk to me like some of the people in the Navy do now they would get a mouthful of abuse back!!!

your dates show you applied before your exit date. One of the docs they require is a military discharge certificate - what did you provide? Is confirmation of exit date enough?

We got hubbys CO to write a letter to confirm his TX date and DIMIA (as it was) were happy with that.

Yep just gave em a letter from my logistics officer saying what my terminal date was - seemed happy enough at DIAC. If you got any other queries shout - more comfortable being open about what I'm doing now I'm out - you know how it is!
