hi all. just joined but been reading thru things for a while, jus got thru the TRA successfully before the september deadline starting visa in afew weeks, we thinking of moving to coolum or surrounding area, anyone got any advice on that area regarding jobs and stufff.......cheers lee

thanku all for your reply`s sorry wasnt too clear on the area, coolum, queensland.dont want to go too far north, bout an hour from bribby will do.....has been the scariest thing we have ever done,,,,,`the wife` still abit unsure as we no only one person in australia, plus leaving her mum and dad...
im a joiner by trade, but for the last five years i have built a nice little business, manufacturing upvc windows and doors, and we also make the double glazed units.....thanks again to you all for the welcome...lee

Hi again Lee,

well Brisbane and the surrouning area seems to be quite popular, and so far I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it. So hopefully the will be planty of Poms who are in the same posistion as you and your wife will be and will be happy to make friends. My husband has an Aunt near Brisbane who enjoys organizing Pom get togethers.

hi cara,everyone tells her we will make new freinds, i mean we are both outgoin people as they mostly are from yorkshire..we have 3 kids but my eldest daughter not cmin with us, she doin a law degree so hopefully she will follow us when she done that.jus wish she felt the same as me but never mind i think we will enjoy it...i go 2morow if i could, had enuff of this rat hole, we call home....lee
