Thats fantastic news. We're hoping to start the mad journey in feb. Gonna go over in jan to make sure its what we really want before selling our business. My hubby is a carpet and floor fitter to. Where are you thinking about going? We're hoping to go to burleigh heads way on the Gold coast. We love it there but need to look into jobs etc. Do you fit wood? Paul doesn't but it looks like a really popular floor covering over there Im just hoping he'll still get work. We're gonna have a look at what agent to go with to don't think I could do it all myself wouldn't no where to start. Good luck with everything.

floor fitter

Well initially we are thinking of Adelaide but becoming more flexible on that one.

Yep I do the wood flooring - but dont be put off with carpets as in the Brisbane or hotter area I have been informed that carpet is still very popular especially where air con is necessary as the warmth of the carpet underfoot is welcomed -

Good luck with your search for work!!! paul.ellison@peopleplus.com.au - we made contact with this guy ................its like a job agency - he contacted us regarding carpet trade contracts both short and long term! Giv him an email with the area you thinking of and see how it goes.

Chow for now

Hi All

We are in the same situation

We went to Perth in Jan for 6 weeks and loved it and decided to start the visas in Jan as we need to do the house up for rent.

So we were shocked when they changed it all but have heard that they are bringing something in, in December to replace the TRA for those of us who have not spent a massive 900 hours in college.

So fingers crossed we will be starting the whole processes in January with the new rules for those hard working trades people who haven't been to college.

Already people are saying haven't you gone yet and I say well we are sorting out the visas with a smile but what I want to say is I Bl**dy wish.

Its nice to see we are not the only ones waiting.

It could be a great early christmas present for us all.

Good luck to you all the Butlers

can I ask you what agent your going with. Floor fitting is a mare as you cant really get any qualifications in it that mean anything a 2 day karndean course does not mean you can fit the stuff. We have a shop and its a mare finding good fitters because you can't tell how good they are until you let them fit something. We've ended up just me and Paul now. Guess its mad really as now we are gonna have to prove how long Pauls been fitting and if he's any good. Where are you based?
Take care don't work to hard
