Hi Jo
I'm burning the midnight oil helping to sort out a last-minute problem with a Contributory Parent visa.
On the Up is not wrong in principle. The photo is of the innards of the new Singapore Airlines Airbus 380 (a most weird looking contraption externally - the wings appear to sprout from the wheel-housings and the thing just does't look balanced to me - not that I have a clue about engineering etc.)
HOWEVER, it really DOES have a dozen such bedrooms (bedding designed and supplied by Givenchy, apparently) so it is possible to get on it in London and spend the whole trip in bed as far as Singapore, provided one doesn't mind forking out £4,000 to go one-way from London to Singapore, seemingly.
For the onward flight to anywhere in Oz one might as well book cattle class, however, because the Posh New Planes will not be serving the routes from Singapore to to Oz, seemingly.
One of these planes is currently in build as a flying palace for a private owner I would guess that it is either in build for a multi-billionaire or it is going to replace Air Force One. There is a pic of the dining room on the private version - the table seats at least 30 people (so the owner plainly won't be doing the cooking him/herself) and apparently the principal bedroom on the thing is 600 sq ft.
Oh well! I've always said that a cat has a right to look at a king.....
Cheers!!!
Gill
