Nasty Neighbour

Hi Everybody

Just thought I'd fill you in with what's happening in my world. V. stressful!

Just as everything seems to be going smoothly with the visa process, another problem arises. As some may remember, our neighbour moved in last year and then proceeded to dispute our adjoining border, which has been in place for at least 20 years.

After only having 1 letter from a solicitor in 12 months, our solicitor told us to go ahead and put the house on the market. Well that didn't go down too well with the neighbour. After only 7 days having the for sale sign up, he has had a big sign put in his front garden telling the whole world that he disputes the border and it hasn't yet been resolved. AAAAARGGGGGHHHHH !!!

As soon as that happened, we went to see our solicitor who is now in the process of getting a magistrate to take the whole matter to court and it's going to cost up thousands (which we don't have) but there is no way we are just going to give in to his bullying.

God, stress. I'm at a previously undiscovered level !!!

Can't you get a surveyor in to check out the boundary?

...and wouldn't a survey have been done when your neighbour bought the place? If there was an issue, then it should have been identified then!

Hey...thats sounds like a crock of cack doesn't it?

We've had 'nasty neighbour' threads on here a few times and some of the ways to deal with them were quite colourful.

Prepare for the deluge of dirty tricks fom PIO members to start...YAY!!!

I've got a nieghbour just like yours,but when I put my house up for sale I wont be putting a for sale sign up. Can't wait till I come back to hunt him. All mouth and no action (on his own) sort of person he is. Did I tell you the bit about .....if he says boo to me he'd be locked up in prison just like that................ well threats to kill are only two steps down from actually murdering some one !!

It hangs over te person for at least FIVE years. Caution after the statement it's called:)

contact your local land reg office for a small fee they will give you a plan and all the measurments of your land and boundries

Hi Joanne

God I can really feel for you. We had neighbours from Hell. They drove us out of our home. They had a very long history of this but no one would do anything. We did not put up a for sale sign. We had to declare the dispute to people who bought the house. It not stop us selling it.
