Smile House Offer!

Hi all
Well yesterday we received an offer on our house! I am very happy but still quite reticent to get too excited as I know other people have had problems when buyers pull out etc...Still its a huge step in the right direction. We phoned the estate agent to say that we would accept the offer (2 grand below asking price) and we are waiting now to see what happens next as the buyers have asked if my oh would put a bath in upstairs (he's a plumber) he is happy to do this but only once the house sale has completed and we are out! We are going to Perth in October to validate visas and now we have the house sale too-its all happening again!
How is everyone else doing with house sales, viewings etc...
Mandy x

Hi
Thanks-yes it is. I was getting a bit jumpy at the thought that we'd have to drop the price. My husband calls me a 'pessamist' (lol) but I prefer 'realist' so won't get too excited until its all signed & sealed.
Fingers crossed though that it all goes okay

Hi Lyn
Have faith in those cushions, they may just do the trick! Even though we've had the offer I still am very cautious as our house is 120 years old and the good old surveyor is bound to find something awry. My friend sold her house a few months back & it was only about 40 years old but the surveyor ripped it to bits and they had to negotiate very carefully with their potential buyers. In fact they ended up leaving bits of furniture for them in lieu of getting some of the work done! Not sure any buyer would wany my furniture though-circa Argos if you know what I mean-lol

Dusting the dog didn't help much either!lol

No the Friday viewer, asked my OH not to make himself a coffee in her Kitchen, and the sunday viewer loved it but couldn't make an offer as she hadn't sold hers!

I've had no viewings on mine yet but it's only been on the market for 2 weeks so I can't complain just yet! I went and added a conservatory in March thinking I would make a profit but as it's above price now the other houses will probably go first as they are cheaper!
