Our meds are finally on their way to Oz so thats it....... OH has just rang to say that our agent reckons we will have our Visa in about 6 weeks.......Eh I dont think so. From what all you guys have been saying there is a 6-8 week backlog processing meds let alone the rest that goes with it. Does anyone know if the the backlog has cleared and does 6 weeks sound about right? Is my agent being a tad optimistic or am I being pesimistic????????

Hi Lisa
Don't know if you remember we had our meds on the same day as you. We were told it would take around 3 weeks to reach oz (10 days for blood tests to arrive, plus 5 days postage 2-3 wks).
We've just got home tonight to a lovely email from our agent telling us that our case officer is happy with everything within our application and is just waiting to see our meds and police checks which we are still waiting to receive back.
We're now under the assumption, after talking to agent, that we could have our visa in 6-8ish weeks.
Yipppppeeeeee.

Well done guys, i hope your agents are right on the 6/8 weeks, cause we would like to know before xmas, but knowing our luck it will prob take alot longer..
We have our medicals tomorrow, the Panel Doctor told us that they take 2 weeks to process all the info here before its sent to Oz, so add on nearly a week for posting and in theory as soon as the Case Officer picks them up they can make a decision, so it could be sooner than 6-8 weeks. Our Agent told us that if they have requested your PCs and Medicals and not any further info that they are happy with everything else. So we are hoping for an answer early October - Keep us posted when you get the nod!!

Is that usual practice that your meds take 2 weeks to process in the Uk before they can be sent?

Sounds that its likely that it could be 6-8 weeks then, im getting nervous now though coz as soon as we get visa am telling my mum and she will be gutted to say the least. Boo hoo ive got butterflies thinking about it.
Kaye meds were totally fine, u have to wear a gown when u get ur xray and that literally takes 30 seconds. The actual medicals are a piece of cake u dont have to wear a gown or anything, they just do the usual wee test, check heart and lungs, throat, eyes, ears etc. Check ur belly for pain in kidney area, do reflexes, luckily I didnt have a breast exam but Alan had to do the "drop and cough" test ha ha!!!! We went in together and Kacey (our little gal) went outside with me and then alan when we had our blood taken. After all that he will go through your form and basically sign everything off as ok, our bloods took 3 days to come back. you will be fine hun, good luck yours are soon arent they?????
Liz and Paul hope your meds went ok today!!!!
Good luck with the waiting you guys.

Had our meds today, they went fine, the staff were really good with the children, we didn't have to wear a gown for the x-ray and we all went in with the Doctor for the checks, no breast examination for me. She picked up an ear infection with our baby which was good to know - just thought he had a cold! They take two weeks to process here just while the blood tests are tested and the x-rays are checked as it is a 12 page document that the radiologist has to fill in once the x-rays have been produced. Good thing is the Doctor said she would phone us if there are any problems with these, so no news will be good news!!
Now we just have to wait and its all out of our hands!!
