BTW where do you live? We are coming to Sydney in January and have know idea where to live, but do know we cant afford many of the places around Sydney!

Hubby will be working near Bankstown but have been told that its not so nice around there.
Any thoughts on the area??

Wow! How things change! I had braces top and bottom for four years until I was 18, then wore a retainer until I was 22 (not too long ago!!) and in the UK thankfully it cost my parents nothing.

I would definitely agree with the advice of making sure you wear your retainer. I wore mine pretty much until it fell apart to try and stop my teeth from moving back! Even now one or two of my teeth are slowly edging back out of line grrr. Hopefully they won't go too far and it won't all have a been a waste of time. But definitely if you have to spend all that money make sure your kids wear their retainers for as long as possible even though it's not the nicest thing!

Rach :)

Blimey! Thats a lot of money! Best start saving for Jakes now, as his teeth are already crooked and as I had to wear fixed braces for 4 years I'm sure he'll need them!

Yes it's for top and bottom, we don't have private insurance for orthodontic care and if we had the waiting period would have been 12 months. Alex's braces are top and bottom - apparently I'll get 5% knocked off if I pay it all off at once. Thanks for the advice on the retainer

Sam .
We live near to Picton , about 40 miles from Bankstown .We were originally from Stourbridge , not far from your location in Telford .Where you decide to live depends on your budget , work locations etc . Please check your email for further .

Something else that may get the savings plan battle scarred are the new ambulance charges in NSW . The call out fee is now $410 , add to that a fee of $4.09 / Km and a max charge of $4516 . The moral of the story is ... make sure your private health insurance covers ambulance bills , otherwise , just don't get sick ...
