The general test is the one required for visa purposes. IELTS - English for International Opportunity
Due to the changes from 1st September, I'm going to have to take the test to gain an extra 10 points. From the 1st Sept I'll only have 115, had 125 before! That's another £95 to add to the running costs!! Not all test centres hold the general test on all dates listed, so check dates carefully! You can look at example test questions on the above link too. I've got a B Grade in Highter English (the equivalent to A-Level in Scotland). Seems really silly to have to do this test, but I need the points!!
