Sad today ..

G'day fellow poms, feeling sad this morning as my son has just gone back to Iraq after 12 days R&R so thought i would just catch up on everyones news to try and cheer myself up. He is back in 3 months but if i feel this sad now - how will i get on when we have to leave him behind next year when we leave for Oz.

I often think it makes no difference how "grown up" our kids think they are, they will always be our kids ..... the love & affection we have for them seems to grow not diminish with the years! Mine are now 28 and 23 and I will be leaving both behind next year when we go to Oz, though hopefully my daughter who is a student nurse will follow us out. I keep telling myself I will only be 24 hours away from them both.

Ahhh really feel for you, my bro was in army and fought in iraq was always heartwrenching when he went back.My mum always took it really bad, but she used to always say as long as he is happy.....plus you gotta be proud of him. Goodbyes really are the pitts and I am dreading saying mine next year. Chin up
