Soggy Sydney

Hi all
I know we need the rain here but did they have to send it all at once? We've had 2 straight days now of torrential rain....my poor pooch hasn't gone walkies and he keeps looking out of the door most longingly! Everytime I think it's looking better and go to get his lead the heavens open again! At this rate I'll need to buy him 2 pairs of welly boots, raincoat and hat if he's ever to get out the door!!!!

I really wish it was soggy Adelaide. They have told us on the news that scientist believe we have only enough drinking water left for a couple of weeks. Don't know if it is just scare tactics though. Send some this Koala please, we could share it I'm not greedy.

That's awful Mrs TinB - does this mean people will be rushing to the supermarkets and hoarding bottled water as they would in UK if such an announcement were made? We are very short of water in NSW too, some parts obviously worse than others so the rain is really much needed, just a shock to the system after such lovely weather and the fact that it's been so heavy for 2 days and nights solid! You are more than welcome to share my water with me.....

You haven't seen anything yet Koala 12. It has been known to throw it down for 2 weeks at a time! Unfortunately this rain is only along the coast and is all running down the drains. Nothing much in the catchment and nothing for the farmers.

Hi Koala

Not noticed anyone rushing out to the supermarkets for water, but then again everyone is so laid back over here. I must be turning Ozzie as it didn't cross my mind to rush out and buy some bottled water, not a bad idea really. Or should I just say 'No worries'. Thanks for your offer I may just have to take you up on it

True enough Mrs TinB - I guess as long as there's beer to drink they're not worried about water shortage!!! Also with wine so good and reasonably priced there are plenty of alternatives to water although neither of the above make a good old cuppa!!!! Ellie - don't think I could stand 2 weeks of this but having said that we do need the rain and if it would only get where it was needed it would be better! I've got a friend coming over to stay for a month in June so would be glad to get all the rain out of the way before then!!!

Hi ya Karen and everyone down under.
l'm really sorry bout this but the weather here in the south east of the UK has been awesome for about a month now Ground is all dried up and cracked already despite almost constant rain for the previous 6 mths. Loads of reports in newspapers here about Oz water shortages so know you all need it, just hope it gets to the right places and doesnt bring all the creepie crawlies out
Lyn x
