Hi all, Moderators are allowed to issue red or yellow cards if we feel that a post or comment warrants a warning...I to date have not had to issue any, but as I am a very fair person and dont wish this site to become full of insults and nastiness I feel that maybe I should use them to be fair to all..
Once issued,should any person continue to recieve these cards then it will lead to your eventual removal from this site
Above all enjoy the site, have fun, but please not at the expense of others..

Well then maybe Tim should suggest to his Moderators that if they decide to use PiO as thier own personal saopbox to talk about thier neighbours work habits or any other social/political views then they should be aware that straying off the topic of Oz and Immigration will/ could lead to an open debate which may or may not offend,depending on your point of view.
An open debate is welcome and healthy,just throwing insults around is not.
And if the comment was not intended to be an insult,but an attempt at humour,then an apology should have been forthcoming.

This site is to talk about anything Australia related and if you notice there is a section called Gossip ,which is for well Gossip,it dosnt do anyone any harm to write a topic un related to Oz and it has been done many times before ,unfortunately this last post was 'ambushed' with unfair comments,and as steve says ,,if it was a 'joke gone wrong' there should be no problems with an appology.Over the last few months lots of posts have turned into bitching sessions and this is what we dont want on PIO,we have never had it and frankly ,dont need it. It dosent help when the same names are always at the centre of the bitching ,either forums or chat rooms .Tim has a life and made this site for people to enjoy ,he is online most days to keep an eye on whats happening and i can only presume in his shoes i would be gutted at what is happening.
Heres hoping eveyone concerned can stop the backbiting

I think PiO is fun, informative and if sometimes it can be a little silly (sorry, ) or a little controversial, why not?
I think moderators are never going to be applauded for every decision they make, but if the thread has started to cause offence -as opposed to being controversial- then I think it's great they are there to do their 'job'.
I think one of the strengths of PiO is that we are allowed free rein. People seem to make friendships here, and as friends, will discuss things that affect their lives or emotions but are not strictly to do with emigrating. But they are to do with life, and that's ok with me!
Please don't let PiO become like some of the less humorous sites out there.
I love pio too lc and to me it's all about making friends (not enemies) and being able to post any moans or groans about whatever and share any good news and worries knowing that somebody will understand how you're feeling and even if they don't somebody will send back some supportive and helpful advice. Don't mean to sound sexist Steve sorry if it is but to me women love to 'chat' (men might call it something else) but chatting to me is sooooo important because it's therapy because you share your worries and get things straight in your own mind and on here you even get somebody giving you support to carry on with what could be an even more stressful time than it is when moving around the other side of the world. it's all about 'sounding off' without any repercussions from anybody.

i personally do not send any replies on posts if i have nothing to add or which i cannot help with but thank god for the moderators. They give their own time up to try to share their own personal experiences and knowledge to help others . They have been there and done it and bought the t shirts (when they are printed!!!!) and although could just get on with their new life are willing to help others and give brilliant advice that they know what they are talking about.
I have a laugh on here reading about others because it's normally somebody laughing at themselves or sharing something which we all do and laugh about but it's not about laughing at people - i think it's just about lightening the mood which could be very serious due to the seriousness of making a massive difference to your life.
