i hear what you are saying,and i admit to having to agree with some of what you are saying.
I think in retrospect that it has gotten a bit out of hand.
both sides need to calm down a bit ( I am not taking sides here)
Re reading it all again, a joke was made/attempted it didn"t go down to well.
an apology should have been issued once it was clear an upset had been made.

My whole family (me included) have had the full blown flu the last two weeks - not man flu - and yes it's been the easter hols off school and my poor children have been asleep/coughing/sneezing/hot and cold sweats/shaking/throwing up/having the trots for the entire school hols, so I've obviously missed something kicking off on here! I don't like to miss any gossip and wonder if someone would be so kind as to fill me in. I promise I'll have an opinion and not be to confrontational!
I have missed logging on to here though over the last couple of weeks and Sally-ann is right, I've found everyone to be so helpful and friendly that it is a shame if anyone spoils that. In actual fact since discovering this site, I've been on here so much that my husband - not being a computer type person - was convinced I was having cyber sex! CYBER SEX!!!!!!!!!! I thought that was when you fancied someone from Doctor Who! Shows how much I know!

Honestly... it's a storm in a tea cup. I think where threads have got a bit stormy for seemingly no reason, it is fair to say that it is the same people (or person) who are at the root of the contraversy, and that is why people respond so fiercely when these people (who are obviously trying to stir things a bit) put up a post which they think is funny, but in fact are just plain wierd. Having said that, I agree that it is easy to get carried away and become a bit abusive when you are online.

I started using this ite about 18mths ago and in the first 16mth have only seen one post with disgraments,unfortunately the last couple of months i agree have been up and down with comments.On a site this big with so many people would it not be boring if we all just talked aussie and all agreed with everything ?? ,a few members seem to be victimising one of the moderators who may not always be right, but has put a hell of alot of time,effort and input into this forum ,she is the only person i know who from the goodness of her heart as helped people gain visa's who had previously been told they stood no chance .As moderators we are no differnt to Tom,Dick or Harry ,we use this site alot and have done for a while,hence approached to be moderators ,we are actually here to keep away the spam and porn that no-one wants on a family site ,we shouldnt have to police a site of adults for upsetting or distressing posts ,lets all please let this matter lie and try to get Poms In Oz back to the happy informative site that it once was.

I agree with Cal (and not just 'cos I'm a moderator), I welcome the diversity that there is on this site, there are serious topics and some that just make you smile (thank you LC and Tin).
We do all take things differently and have different opinions, we should be able to say "I don't like that" and "I'm sorry it wasn't meant that way", which in the majority of cases it won't have been.
We are all grown up's, please lets not be deliberatley offensive, this is a great site to get advice and support and a great opportunity to make friends.
