REMEMBER THO'...................if you buy your bedding in UK make sure it includes duvets.....coz your UK duvet cover may not fit an Aussie duvet!!

Someone told us that you can't take quilts only covers, something to do with customs , not sure. Is this right? I was going to get rid of them all but not if I don't have to.
Also had a removals firm tell us that no rattan or wicker or cane furniture/items will be let in!
Great thread, making a shopping list!!

That might be the case with real feather quilts....or dooners as they are called here!!
We bought hollow fibre filled quilts and we were fine thro' customs. If you leave them all rolled up in the sealed bags they come in then they wont take up too much room.
I shopped in the uk sales and whenever I saw quilts and covers I bought them.
If you shop in the sales here there not too badley priced. There is also a place called DFO.....DIRECT FACTORY OUTLETS, not too far from us. I bought sheet sets from there, Aussie king size, flat sheet, fitted sheet and 2 pillow cases. 250 thread count.......like silk but cotton.......for $39. The quality is fantastic.better than M&S AND THEY HAVE WASHED UP LOVELY!!
Boring subject I know but just one more of the things us girls have to think about.

Hi
Didn´t know about the feather duvets and pillows - we brought ours over to oz with no problems.
The doule quilts are about the same size here the queen size are huge and the king size are the same as the uk along with the single size
