Just wanted to say hi to everyone as this is my first time here.
We are a family of four heading to Brisbane, currently living not far from Edinburgh. We applied for a 136 MODL visa in Jan 07 got a CO in feb and had medicals requested 2 weeks ago so it is all moving a lot quicker than we thought. Didn't expect to get a CO until at least may.
We're off for meds on sat so fingers crossed we won't be waiting to long after this.

Where abouts are you in the visa process? It can be quite nerve racking eh and you can't make any firm plans until you have that pink slip in your passport. Lets hope we all get it soon.

I havent even started the via process yet!!! I joined the site when me and OH decided this was something we wanted to do and we needed more info, and I cant get off it now! we are applying next march ish after our reckie in feb 08, (staying with Jo n Paul, dont know if he knows this yet lol!!!) OH is after Perth but i want Bris so we'll do both and i'll strop until he gives in lol!!!
Any ideas where you fancy in bris?

OH needs to be within travelling distance of Brisbane so it will be somewhere that is within travelling distance but on the way to Goldcoast. Like the look of Coomera and Upper Coomera and also Ormeau (spelling??) But will make final decision once we get there.
You must be really excited about your hol we've never been but have decided to just go for it so fingers crossed. I joined British Expats last august once we decided to go and its probably as addictive as this site, now I'm a member of 2 Oz sites god help us I'll have no time for anything else :rofl:
You must seriously have the patience of a saint to be able to wait another year before applying. we applied in Jan and the waiting is driving me mad already lol

My OH is an accountant. I am a member of another forum tho and there are a lot of jan applicants with different skills being assigned CO's. My OH read that they have increased the migrant quota for this year and he reckons thats why its all going a bit quicker than expected.
no, i'm not patient at all, but we need to save money, we'll be bringing a dog and at least 2 cats, maybe 3 so we'll need the dosh!! it helps that we havent applied yet, it looks like the waiting for the visa is the hardest part and we dont have that worry yet! i must admit the thought of spending the money on the trip when could be put to better use with the visa application worries me bit; but it will prepare our families for the inevitable, (they no that OH wants to move there) and i want the kids to see it first as if they dont like it (as if!!!!) then we will re think applying, but that isnt going to happen, the likely hood is they wont want to come back at all!! fingers crossed!!
