Marmite

Hello all

My girlfriend Andrea went out and brought her self some Vegemite and she hates it. She is worried now that they do not sell Marmite in Aus.
Does anyone know the answer.

Yes I know the answer!!! I asked this question on another site recently. Marmite is sold in some supermarkets like Coles and Safeway, but alot of people say, including my sister, that it doesn't taste the same. There are a couple of places in Melbourne and Sydney

Saying that I posted her a 250g jar yesterday and it cost me over £5 to send. She can buy her own jar next time!

Hates Vegemite ?...........surely not. :shock:
Vegemite is a whole lot better than Marmite.....but then I've been eating it virtually every day for the last 20 years, so I guess I would say that.
I'm sure she will grow to love it.......if she keeps trying it. :lol:

I'm from Harlow for the next 18 days at least then off to beutifull Aus.
About a 30 min drive on good day from Thurrock 5 hours on a normal day. I can't wait to leave all this traffic behind. Ware are you from?

What I'll do austibeach

is scoop out the Vegimite and put it into the Marmite jar and wait. I'll let you know if she notices and before long she may get used to it. Hope so it must be cheaper than importing it. But saying that what if I imported it in bulk would I get hammerd with import tax?

I'll be chuffed if they don't stock Marmite in the shops. My wife tries to kiss me after eating it but I'd rather stick my head in an oven that let marmite get near my mouth.

The stuff should be banned on a worldwide scale. :lol:
