I know someone who has done this with school age children and never regretted it. They rented out their house for 12 months. Your children are a good age in that you're not taking them out of school and having them settle into new ones.

Personally - I'd do it.

Hi EM & M,

Im sure that to get a working holiday visa you have to be under the age of 30 ?? Maybe worth checking out just to make sure. All the info is of the government website.

Hope you get out there one day.

Unfortunately this won't be an option for you and your family. The conditions are you have to be under the age of 31 before you apply, single and have no dependents.

Working 1 Year

Hello there,

WHV is not an option but from many countries where they are not eligible, or simply want a year out, sabbatical etc. family groups can go out on a temp study visa if one parent studies (the other gets pt work rights, if Post Grad ft).

Catch is you would have to pay full international fees for school for your children...from AUD6K each per year.

Experience wise great for all the family and you do not need to commit...for now if you study for two years students can apply for PR onshore http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener.../880/index.htm

Personally as an education agent (Australian) dealing with various nationalities it is a very logical thing to do, i.e. allows you to study, work and live in Oz to see if you actually like it :) which is not a given. This is vs applying for PR offshore (without ever visiting Oz), selling house etc.

Cheers Andrew
