BIRTH CERTIFICATE

hi all was reading some old posts concerning long/short birth certificates, i have made my visa application (skilled) at the beginning of dec 06, and sent the short version as i did not have a long type, i used an ozzy migration agent and he never said anything, just wondering would this affect my application. or would they just ask for the long one if they needed it, any advice would be most gratefull...regards...john..

our agent advised us that we needed our long birth certificates, we found a site on the net that allowed us to order them for about £7.00 each.

Same here i was advised to get a long version ,again orderd off the net ,for a few quid it might be better to order one as it took about 3 week ,that way if you are asked for it ,its there and your not delaying your application as much ,,

1. Obtain the long form birth certificate.

2. Scan and email it to the Department of Immigration at this email address:
branch1.docattach@immi.gov.au ; ensure your visa application file reference and the main applicant's full name are noted in the Subject Line of the email.

You shouldn't have to send the original (or a certified copy) to the Skilled Processing Centre, as they are happy to accept scanned documents these days.

Hope this helps.
