We are out in Cyprus 8) and were desperate to see the show. My dad back in the UK agreed to tape it for us (which was great because he sits through it and watches too) but that didn't seem to satisfy me - I would have to wait for about 5 weeks to see it! :(
Any way - on Tuesday before the show I was so desperate I went searching on line and found a site called UK Live TV. For £24 I purchased UK TV for 1 month on line. It can be watched anywhere in the world and they also show all shows on an 8 hour delay - so you can see it again if you miss it - out here in Cyprus it actually comes through on an 11 hour delay but that means its on at 11.15am and 8.15 pm (our time)which is great.
For those of you in Aus who want to see the shows - it may be worth it to book it for a month (you can cancel at any time).
I know it seems extreme but we leave in 9 months and as we haven't been down before, thought it would help - and it has.
Money really well spent (even for a Scot) and enjoying the shows enormously!
I had a day off today to see the show and it was very informative. I did make me laugh when the husband was complaining about the daily grind and how "their must be more to life than this" whilst washing his porch 911 on the drive of his beautiful detached home with is lovely wife and charming kids playing inside (probably) My heart bleeds!!!
The show did bring home to me that we have got some very emotional times ahead if we are to realise our dreams of living in Oz and as a father of 2 boys just a bit younger than the ones in the show today i admit it brought a lump to my throat (ok i blubbed) when the little guy started to cry.

We had the same response. My OH and I never cry but we both blubbed when the husband read the letter from his mum. It really bought it home what I'm about to do to my mum. So really I was crying for her. Why does paradise have to be so far away.... :(

My Mood:
I have a relative in the uk who is supposed to be taping the whole series onto disk ,when i get this i will gladly copy and forward to anyone who has missed out on it.
As for are we looking throu rose tinted glasses ,australia will be what you make it,the first few weeks arent easy with all the running around and form filling but it does get easier and better,it would take a million horses to drag us back to the Uk the prospects here are so much better ,just remember you will have down days as well as up ones ,Oz isnt perfect but its 99.9% better than the UK.

I have taped (to keep for future reference  ) and watched them all so far, saddo that I am!!
The programmes have been informative but sometimes they make me hopping mad! :x
Take the one where the family were renting in Bournemouth (he was a painter & decorator). What really confused me was (1) the place they rented in Oz (huge 4 x 2) was half the rent they are paying per month in the UK (2) he found out that the wages were about the same as he was earning in the UK per week PLUS the bonus of having almost year-round employment not just seasonal which he has to put up with in the UK. So, when he then opted overall for the UK due to not being able to buy a property immediately I was very confused!
I know they have no equity and want to get on the property ladder (their main reason for the move) and feel they couldn't do so immediately but surely if they rented for a few years (which most do anyway, regardless of the equity they are bringing over) they could save enough to get a deposit of sorts. Lets not forget the wife could also find a job as the kids were 11 and 16.
Am I missing something here? Anyone else confused by this one or any other programme so far??
