SHIPPING... Who to use.

A spanner has been thrown in the works... i was going to use ANGLO PACIFIC, but the bad reports have put me off. :?
Im interested to know who people have used, or who people are going to use, and what sort of costs are involved.

Cheers :D

Hi, we moved out begining of oct and used EVL. They phoned a couple of days ago asking us to fill out the shipping papers!! what a joke we thought our stuff was on it's way!! Shipment won't be leaving until next year :x Lucky we didnt send lots of furniture as we have had to buy new stuff for our rental.

Just make sure you find out the date the shipment will be leaving before using anyone. :)

We're using John Mason. They're coming on Jan 2nd. The guy they sent round made sure we knew what we could and couldn't take, did an itemised inventory etc.. The cost of a full container incl. incurance has come to about £3,800 but we're taking almost all our stuff.
We had PSS round too, very nice guy, but on the quote, he'd put 5 bikes (when we have 2), he'd only guessed at what was in the loft), where the man from John Mason looked and wrote everything down.

Hi

We used Allied Pickfords and they were great both ends. Cost was £4,000 for a full packing and unpacking service and we couldn't fault them at all, very polite and efficient at both ends. Took6 weeks for stuff to arrive and that's including customs clearance.

Hope this helps

Jackie

Hi Guys

We used Anglo Pacific and were very disappointed :( ..they talked the talk and we were convinced although they were morre expensive then others. We were told that a 20ft container would be sufficient for everything. However, we were not convinced :? and asked for another assessment two weeks before leaving only to be told that 20ft would be okay. On the second day of packing the lead packer told us he didn't think it was going to all fit by along margin! We were flying out the next day and so panic sets in . With four young kids we certainly had our hands full. They were wrong by 50%! Yes we had another 10ft worth of stuff and we couldn't believe it :x . They had our stuff and obviously wanted more money now. We were in a corner and had no choice to pay up. Our belongings subsequently left four weeks later and we found their dealing of the whole matter unacceptable . Had we know from the onset that we would need a 40ft container it would have been alot easier without stress. Some others we have met have used Crown and so far I have not heard of a bad experience :) . Best of luck and hope it all goes smoothy for you :D .

Goods arriving late complete with not-bargained-for additional costs. Goods arriving wrecked and for ever more un-usable.

The forums are thick with complaints about the outfit and have been for months......
