Stopover hotels

We are stopping over in Dubai and Singapore for 4 days in each. If anyone has hotel recommendations, I'd be grateful for them.
Thanks
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

Try www.hotel.com - they usually have some good deals, we used these for our hotels in Sydney and Cairns last year - no problem with either reservation

Singapore hotels

We searched the net for hotels is Singapore, but we were recomended by a friend who had just been, not to book as there is a great hotel desk at the the airport, so after searching the internet and finding the area which we wanted to stay 'Orchid Road' which is one of the main hotel run's.

We wrote down a few names of hotels we liked, then when we arrived at the airport hotel desk they showed us two huge print outs of last minute hotel vacancy's.We recognised lots of hotel names but chose The Phoenix www.hotelphoenixsingapore.com which was on Orchid road as the couple next to us in the que used the hotel regurlary on business trips and highley recomended it.

We took a taxi straight there, we were very impressed, they upgraded us to a suite free of charge which had a huge fantastic bed along with a huge leather massage chair, built in plasma tv screens in the bathroom and all mod con's, we had just spent a few weeks travelling around Thailand so this was the hight of luxury for us and I think it worked out about £23 a night.

It also had a metro station right next to it which is the best way to get around, you can use your room key card to access the metro so you don't need to worry about buting tickets.

Hope this helps

Neil

I can recommend the Phoenix too . I have stayed there , its reasonably priced , central location and the rooms are good sized . I have also stayed at The Marriot in Singapore , its more expensive , but a great hotel .

Hope you have a good trip .

Dave

Try Trip Advisor - I always use it to check out hotels/accommodation for holidays.
