We want to have an idea of general cost to buy household goods etc., as wondering what's worth taking or buying new ... Is there an equivelant of Argos??!! :?

Nothing quite like Argos, but Target & Kmart are popular for general odds and ends.

We get white goods from http://www.goodguys.com.au/ But remember to allow for the cash discount, often about 12%.
