Smile Best places to live in OZ????

      Hi all,

My partner and i have been talking about moving to OZ some day more so me than him lol, we have a son who is almost 2 and we both want a better life for him hes very much an outdoor child as he just loves to play and explore the outdoors thats where hes happiest :) So..... iv been looking into OZ quite a bit trying to convince the other half that it is a good idea feeding him loads of pros and not very many cons. I was just wondering which areas of Oz are the most popular or likeable places to live????

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i WILL get over to OZ one day..... lol!

It really depends on what you like, and what kind of work you will need to find. Most places are good for the outdoor life although Tas and Victoria in particular can be chilly and damp for winter time. Queensland is very popular for Brits, with good reason as it is a very outdoors kind of place, great beaches etc. However, dealing with the heat and humidity is very different day to day than it is on holiday!

We would like to be within a good distance of the beaches, dont want to have to travel too far into town near a good school. We want the laid back lifestyle. It cold enough most of the year in Britain and can get pretty cold so we would want sum where thats sunny the whole time haha im sure my son will learn to cope with the heat well i hope he can but he will be alot older by the time we move out there anyway :) x

      Hi Tilly
Here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland it does get cold in the winter but our winter days have been on average about 20 degrees, colder at night.
We are about 10 mins from Mooloolaba Beach and about 20 mins from Caloundra and loads of beaches.
We have beaches one side and the Hinterland (Forests) the other.

Big shopping centre at Maroochydore no more than 20 mins if that and shopping centres a lot closer.

We feel we chose the right place for us to live. And although we have no littlies in schools we have read that the schools round here are great.

BUT...................... the place you live also depends on work.

Brisbane is the only place I would live here, I'm not sure it be a better life for your son but it will be a different one.
