Is the starter motor turning?
Alternator?

Put your lights and windscreen wipers on,,, if they work normally (the wipers) it sounds like your starter motor.
If the wipers are moving slower than usual it spounds like the battery , maybe you didnt get a good connection when you hooked it up to yours.
If you get stuck ,let me know,

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...
If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...
Thanks for all the suggestions! We gave up in the end and he's called the RACQ to get it towed to the garage.....stupid car.....moral of this story....DON'T BUY BRITISH!!!!
He's getting the RWC done at the same time and we are selling it!!! Going to lease one from now on.......at least we know exactly what we are paying each month then!!!

Nah, just a Freelander. It turned out it WAS the battery, so I don't know why it didn't start when we used the jump leads. Maybe they were British leads too!!!!!
It's gone to the nice man in Cleveland who groans every time he sees the car......but he was delighted that we asked him the do the RWC on it so that he doesn't have to see it again!

At least it's not too many $$$$ for a battery then. My mechanic used to do that too, as soon as I rang up about my old lemon Commodore he would go 'oh no I need that like a hole in the head', it was one thing after another, switches, locking device, all the little stuff. Cars are a p in the a that is for sure, except my little VW which I drove for gazillions of years and never did a thing to it, but that was the old days....memories.....
