Shippers been and gone today!

Shippers have just left with all our gear... Felt really strange knowing it will be on the other side of the world in 8 weeks time..

We used John Mason as i read a lot of good comments about them. The two guys who packed out stuff where really professional, polite and respectful. I couldnt beleive how well everything is packed...

The house is well empty now to the point where every room echo's, i say echo's :-)

2 more nights in this house then we move into my daughters for 5 days and then we are off...
Just noticed to that our Orange phone contracts have ended... Went to send a text and no signal... Dow! Off the shop to buy a PAYG sim...

Its all so real now and im loving it!

Yes we are in exactly the same position, we are sleeping on a mattress on our lounge floor tonight and the boys are sleeping on the sofa, our house should be empty tomorrow and then we finalise house sale on Friday, very excited but nervous aswell. Just want to book flights but need cheque from house sale first.

Well done you. Sounds really great and very exciting! We're hoping to fly out at the beggining of september. I think it gets more real and exciting as you get closer to the move day! Congrats again and remember to have fun!

Hi agree with you tumblealot. We are being shipped beginning of Sept and fly out 5 days later. It is becoming more exciting and less daunting as we check off the list of things to do. Are having a break for 10 days or so to see family around the SE & Midlands next week. Want to just go now! how much can you really plan for the unknown ? how many goodbyes can you fit in?
Mind you it feels good telling cold callers sorry we're emigrating- sort of stops them in their tracks ! Looking forward to the whole adventure at last- if I could just by pass the packing ! LOL !

Exactly, how much can you really plan, you have just got to go for it and hope for the best!

I havent exactly ticked much off my list tho! We heard about our visa two weeks ago and with the summer hols coming decided it was best to aim for the beg of sept to go. It doesnt leave a lot of time but a good job ive got the summer off to sort it all out, I just hope it is enough time. we havent got jobs sorted or anything yet!

We just thought you've got to set a date and aim for it, otherwise you just go round in circles!:spinny:

What part of Aus are you aiming for? Good luck with everything.
