Qantas Introduces international advance Seat Selection & International Online check-

I know that for most of you this is pretty boring information but for me it's a major step forward.

Qantas has introduced international online check-in and advance seat selection, expanding the range of services available to customers.

Customers whose first sector of their itinerary is on a Qantas operated and marketed flight can check in and print their boarding pass between 24 hours and 2 hours prior to their flight departure. Customers may also enjoy a faster airport experience with dedicated online check-in counters for bag drop and visa checks.


international advance seat selection From 18 june 2009, chairmans lounge, platinum, gold and silver frequent flyers travelling internationally will be able to request a seat via Qantas.com once they have completed their reservation. By logging on to "manage your booking", eligible frequent flyers will see a 'select seats' button which takes them to a seat map showing available seats to request for their international booking.

Please note for any Qantas domestic travel, a seating preference panel will be displayed on Qantas.com with the opportunity for eligible frequent flyers to enter an aisle or window preference for a domestic flight number.

Hi Nigel, I've just done the online check in flying from Blackpool to Faro, its just soooooo easy and so much easier when you get to the airport!! Good to know its going to be happening all over, thanks for the info!!

Qantas has been rather slow to introduce OLCI,airlines like BA and others have had international on line check in for some time but Qantas has recently completed a major upgrade of it's I.T systems and finally are able to offer it,they have also introduced advanced seat selection for some frequent fliers so that's another reason to sign up for their program,they have also recently announced that from 22 June you can earn FF points when you spend $30.00 or more at a Woolworths or Safeway supermarket in Australia.

Yes Nigel, my lovely man has orders from the UK here to switch his alliance over to woolies, anyway the Coles in Karratha isnt upto much, the FIFO demolish the shelves too quickly lol
