Car Finance Q?

If you want to purchase a car on HP how long do you have to of been in the country to qualify for credit and also what documentation would you need to take with you to the garage? We are moving over on a 457, would we be allowed credit towards a car?

Hi, I got a car, mobile phone and interest free credit on a 457 no problem. They just needed to see your passport stamp during the application.

I also moved the previous time on a 457, and first thing I did was order a car, before I rented or anything. Did all the finance through the dealer, with them seeing my UK licence and passport. All was fine. Cannot recall what deposit I had but it would not have been much, given I spent $50k on a car...
