new spider....no joke

hi all

dont want to worry anyone but i have just received a e-mail from a friend whos a gp in oz telling me to be very carefull of a new spider in oz, he says it is very similar to the huntsman and is in w.a and spreading very rapidly to the rest of oz, he also says it lives in houses (very worried ).
i thought it was a joke but he assures me it is not a joke and has sent me a photo of it ,does look like a huntsman, has anyone heard of it.

I doubt that they just happened to discover a new kind of spider which apparently is wildly spreading in OZ , it's contradictory and mutually exclusive.
You GP friend is probably practicing his 1April jokes

Mark Harvey from the Western Australian Museum says the Assassin spider is a threatened species and is believed to date back 150 million years.
He says it is a significant discovery.
"We hadn't seen that species for about 25 years, so to find them quite happy in their habitat on the south coast was quite a boon for us," he said.

The new species of spider, which is yet to be named, is about four millimetres long and was discovered at Bremer Bay

Perhaps you should apologise to the peep who created the thread to notify all members and also not pre-judge her doctor friend in making it up a story either.

Perhaps you should make up your own jokes for april fools and post them.
