Just over a week to go until big move down under

Hi all, so excited just over a week to go until our big move we fly out on Sat 14th March. Removers are coming next week so will be living with nothing but don't care it will be worth it.
The house is a mess kids keep getting everything out of boxes i have packed saying they want to play with toys as they will have to wait to see things again (driving me mad). Still loads to do the charity shop will be sick of me keep taking stuff to them. Trying to keep calm but when i look around at everything everywhere it looks like steptoes yard. sorry to have a whinge but be glad when everything will get back to normal.

I just want to ask on how you felt and what you did in the last week in Uk.
Also any advice or things we may have forgotten to do in the last week in Uk.

Going to have a nice glass of wine now and chill for a while.

i felt absolute panic in my last week it didnt help that none of us had been on a plane before and we decided to get married have a big wedding a day before we flew mad i know but you will get through it alll enjoy your glass of wine hon and just think in a week the glass of wine will be in oz

Still remember that last couple of weeks, counting down the sleeps, feeling really anxious, are we doing the right thing? the thought of all the goodbye's was the worst, but got stronger at everyone. Had lots to do and so many people to inform that we were moving abroad, I think you get mixed emotions, emotions that you have never felt before, deep down though I knew we were doing the right thing, and still believe we have done the right thing for us as a family, been living on the gold coast since Aug 07 and love it

The Last Week - well I remember it so well, it was sooo busy with people popping in to say goobye , even though we had a farewell drink at our place on the Saturday night (we were leaving on the Monday).

OK before your computer disappears make sure you have C.V.'s printed of!! We packed into our cases that were coming on the flight bank statements so that we could use these to get a rental, references (for jobs), childrens school reports, driving licences oh and if you belong to RAC pack the policy for this away too as you can get cheaper car insurance here with this when going to RACQ.

OUr Saturday night farewell drink was probably the worse thing we could have done it upset my eldest , he had such a great night with all his friends and when everyone left he was sad and felt empty, I think that last night with his friends still plays on his mind.
The plus side was that we had bought a new address book and it went around so that everyone could put their address, tel number and emails in there for us.
