finished work

Today i have finished work. Its been a strange day, recieved lots of gifts, cards and best wishes, kisses and cuddles, a great leaving party with lots lovely grub and a chocolate fountain yummy, but i feel numb......................WHY have i not cried? Lots of others did. I loved my job and the staff i worked with are the best on the planet........i doubt i will ever be so lucky to have such a great job again and such great work mates.............do you think i am in shock ??

Sounds like you had a lovely day, which you will treasure. You were obviously well liked and will be missed by all your colleagues. Can't imagine anyone arranging a chocolate fountain for me?!?! Well done!

Don't you think the numbness is probably good. It may be a good way of protecting you from all sorts of irrational thoughts and feelings that are only natural when you are contemplating a huge life changing move.

hi karen - have u no visa or have you just not updated yor signature?

i think if you dont have your visa yet it probably just doesnt feel real and the tears have yet to come

if you do have your visa then maybe it still wont feel real until you are on that plane

i cry at the drop of a hat but have been quite strong through the whole process - there have been the odd tears ( well maybe more than the odd tears! ) but i think once you have made up your mind to do this then you have got to be strong and get on.

Hi Karen, i would say you are still in shock with it all, perhaps you just can't believe the day has actually come when you would finish work, i remember reading your thread about leaving work and that seems ages ago, just go with the flow now, and look forward to the next chapter of your life

Hiya Karen congratulations on becoming a lady of leisure!!! you probably are sub conciously blanking it all out ,it may well all hit you all at once when it comes to your actual leaving time.Hopefully it dosnt though and you keep smiling whilst you can,good luck with everything

Hi Karen, you lucky girl finishing work now!!! Great that they gave you a good send of, sounds like good times were had.

I think the build up to the move can leave you feeling just numb. I wonder how we feel when we are on that aeroplane looking at the window as England disappears.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and wisedom....................BUT guess what just recieved a phone call and our visa has been granted................now i feel even more numb, just running around and doing nothing, carn't think striaght either. Sooooooooooooooooo much to do, so no lady of leisure.....not yet anyway XX

Karen i'm sooooo pleeaasseeeddd for you, looks like your on a roll now hun, keep us posted on what your up to i'm so jealous, but i'm hoping our 176 visa will have a similiar timescale to yours
