      Just a thought!

A common theme that keeps on appearing on this forum is that the UK:
      · Full of immigrants
      · Who take jobs that should be done by British people
      · That Aus does not have immigrants (2 out of every 7 Australians is born overseas)
I do read posts hear and on other forums where a lot of English people feel Aus will be the answer in terms of a land without any immigrants (to me the seems only to apply to non white immigrants)
Is the irony not lost on these people THEY ARE BECOMING IMMIGRANTS and they can be seen as taking jobs away from Australians?
Let’s talk about jobs the immigrants take, I work in London in a marketing agency and have to say that the number of Brits of any ethnicity makes up 50% of the workforce and the company has 200 plus employee. So where do the under cutting immigrants come into it.
This post will offend many but I have been reading for months and the rhetoric of some is disgusting. It could be that I feel it more being a second generation British of Asian heritage.
Its as if the people who do not like immigrants are all upping sticks and move to Oz!

i think the bit you have confused yourself with is,,
the migrants to oz know and are wiling to work when they get here, they are also happy to embrace the Australian way of life and dont want to ban Father Xmas, natvity plays or expect school canteens to serve Bangers and mash and other 'english' foods.
The majority of immigrants you hear people moaning about in the UK are the ones that live 20 in a terrace ,collect all the benefit they canand avoid work like the plague also they do jack all to fit in with the uk way of life ,,very different i think youll agree

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...
If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...

not at the moment but will be doing so in the next 6-9 months.
As my husband is austrailian I will be going over on a spouse visa (exactly how he came here)

I read everything on here and after having been there last I know i can make it home but it just annoys me how some people people rightly or wrongly perceive austrailia as place which does not have foriegners!

No immigrants want certain food banned or xmas banned this the PC brigade who speak on behalf of immigrant communities.

lets not forget a vast mjority of early immigrants Asain (like my family) were invited over to fill jobs that were filled by brits due shortage of labour after the war.

So there is a paralell between both migrations.

What percentage of immigrants do you think fit your description?

Also please describe what is the UK way of life, this question is always thrown about but i have never been given a satisfactory or water tight description?

well maybe the immigrants need to speak to the PC brigade ,i sure as hell know it wouldnt happen over here ,thats what i love about Oz ,freedom of speech without worrying that what youve said is poitically incorrect. If it is nothing to do with immigrants why are they allowing it to happen? as thats whats turning the majority of brits against them and unfortunately the minority open the can of worms for the majority.Nothing frustrates me more than being in a shopping centre and not being able to understand what certain migrants are on about as they have no interest in learning the language,i actually cared for an asian lady in the uk ,she came over there on holiday 9 yrs ago and had a major stroke preventing her returning to her country,10 members of her family lived in that 2 bed terrace ,they had materesses under the stairs behind the settee everywere ,oh and not forgetting the nice bmw parked outside!! i also was freindly with some asians who had the corner shop and were the most hardworking freindlist people you could meet ,as i say the minority tar the brush for the majority unfortunately.
As for the amount of folks moving here,we are willing to fork out so much dosh to get here a massively large proportion of us want to work ,infact i dont know of one pommy family here who at least one member of the family dosnt work, the differnce being we as new migrants to Oz are not entitled to the handouts the uk gives to new arrivals there.

By the uk way of life, i think you know what i mean but in easy terms ,if i moved to Spain ,i would learn spanish ,i would eat spanish food and accept their culture and traditions after all i CHOOSE to move there why should they change to suit me.In the uk as niave as i you may call me i didnt want my kids to learn punjabi at school,or have to choose from an indian menu on a certain day of the week for lunch, neither did i want the fun of xmas being taken away because certain religions find it offensive,
well in fear of turning this thread into an asian verus english catfight i will leave it be now ive cleared my chest, lol, good luck with your visa ,life out here is very different and ten times better for most,a spade is a spade with the aussies and anyone easily offended or working for the PC brigade should stay away, lol

well yes as people like to band that about but without anyone giving a clear answer!

      uk way of life:

      going to work
putting something back into your community
respect the society you live in
if you have children raise them so that see everyone as equal

I have put those points but they are applicable to every nation on this earth
