We're arriving in Cairns and are then planning to take a campervan down the East Coast to Sydney. Just wondering if anyone knows what the campsites are like. We would prefer not to book as it would stucture our holiday, like the idea of deciding things on a whim. Anyone know whether the campsites tend to get fully booked this time of year or would we be OK. Our only worry in all this is that we have a 2 year old with us on our travels. We did some travelling right the way up the east coast Jan/Feb time in 2006 and never had a problem getting into a campsite at all!! It was so much fun just going where you wanted when you wanted!! Our Lonely Planet was a godsend as it listed some campsites so you could get a feel for the area they were all in! You'll have a blast!!! And at least with a campervan you haven't gotts put up a tent in blistering hot sunshine! Unlike us!!!
