£25 to certify each copy from magistrates court

I have just rang my local Magistrates court to find out about getting my documents certifed. They want £25 to for each copy. That is criminal.I dont mind paying something but i think someone somewhere should look into this. Rip off Britain. To me they are abusing their position.

Hi there, I used to work for a local firm of Solicitors, and it is only £5 for each document; that includes the photocopying, then adding the ink-stamped part that needs completing, and for the Solicitor to complete it.

We had our's done last week. We had 9 done, and were quoted £5 each, but they only charged us £35. (Not because they know me; I now live miles from where I worked). We just picked them out of the phone book.

      Good luck...

Did you ask for the JP to sign them or just the magistrates court. when I phoned they said it would be £25 per copy but when I asked if the JP could do it they said it would be £25 for the whole lot!!!! make sense of that if you can! When I went to get them done the JP was lovely filled them all in, cuddled my then 4 week old baby (it was a man in hos 50's) then I left and they said there was no charge!! Think the baby may have swung it, lol. anyway phone and ask for the JP to do them, failing that if you have another one near you phone them or phone round all the local solicitors for quotes.

Hi we had ours done by a head teacher who also works as a magistrate, as he knows me through my children, I had all my documents done for free (and there was loads), maybe ask around at school or ask if anyone knows anyone in a position to help.
      Good luck

Found a local solicitor will do all 26 for £100. This is a bit better than £650 i still cannot get over how they could get away with charging £25 each. They need locking up.

      certified documents

Just recently had to certify documents.I phoned my local magistrates court and told them i wanted to make a stat dec i was charged £25 for all our documents which i thought was reasonable considering we had about 50 items which needed certifying. Althought the magistrate wasn't impressed cos he had to delay the court sessions by 30 mins whilst he finished signing everything.
