Guest andrew_obrien Posted March 6, 2008 Share Posted March 6, 2008 Hello i have applied for my 175 visa and my partner is coming over as a de-facto partner she asked me today if she is allowed to work when we get there. i know it might be a silly question but i dont know the answer does anyone else know the answer? Guest diesellisle Posted March 7, 2008 Share Posted March 7, 2008 Hi Andrew, I am pretty certain that on a 175 visa a de facto partner is allowed to work. We are hopefully going on a 176 visa (state sponsored) and while my partner is the skilled one, I am hoping to get a job too! You could try the DIAC website as that will tell you the limitations of your visa - Department of Immigration and Citizenship Hope that helps a little.
