Hi There
has anyone took/taking their dog?
What about quarantine?
How much is a dog passport?
Cheers
Diane :)

Hi Diane
We took our dog it cost £2700 (for a German Shepherd) not including quarrantine of about $750 dollars. I would suggest contacting a pet travel company they will do everything for you. We used Pet Travel Services. They arrange the permit for the dog to travel. Dogs dont need a passport to travel to Oz but do if they are coming back
Couldn't work that one out myself at the time but hey

Thank you for getting back so quickly
Oh my word
I wonder why its so expensive ?

I'm afraid it all goes on the size of the dog. Then there is permits, travel crates, flights, handling fees & any other fee they can think of. My last post did not include the vets bill for micro chipping ( if not already done) & blood tests I think cant quite remember but im sure that was another couple of hundred my dog failed a blood test had to be re tested plus anti biotics. Where in Oz are you heading because if it's Perth Byford Q is booked solid to April last I heard. But again a pet transport company will sort that out for you.

Hi we have two huskies to go we rang around but with pet export it was costing 4400 and thats onlt two flights and crates i am doing the permits and the health requirements as it made it cheaper have rang the airport to ask if i can buy the flights but no so i am now going down the line of asking how to become a freight agent lol just to see how much it actually costs for a dog to go.
but ring round as i said if you do the permit licence yourself which isnt hard and ring and book quarantine and then the health requirements which is only applying to defra for a form and see how much cheaper you can get it for
hope this helps and if you find a cheap one pm me lol
